Abstract

Nowadays all of the countries want to consume the resources in optimum way and try to reach more national product by less usage of resources. Pellet is placed in list of biological fuels and accounted as a renewable resource. In this research we examine the consumption trend of Pellet and entering of The Islamic Republic of Iran to the Pellet market. For this purpose we model the Pellet trade flow and examine the trade opportunities in the markets of producing countries. Based on the presented results it can be inferred that the trend of pellet consumption will not decrease in the coming years and the mentioned trend is close to EU 2020 targets based on providing safe energy. Also according to the results, except the current Pellet producers, there will be other production sites to take market share. Therefore, it seems that producing wood pellets inside the country is justifiable.
