Abstract
Marketing intelligence is an important tool for collecting relevant information for marketing managers to support decision-making under conditions of certainty and uncertainty; it provides faster, cheaper, and more comprehensive information for organizational use. This study aims to examine and prioritize the dimensions of marketing intelligence in the context of national lighting product development. The statistical population comprised managers and specialists from the country’s lighting industry; using snowball sampling, ten experts in marketing and sales were selected. The research employed a mixed-methods design (qualitative and quantitative). In the qualitative phase, thematic analysis of data obtained from semi-structured interviews was conducted using open, axial, and selective coding to identify basic, organizing (components), and global (dimensions) themes. In the quantitative phase, the Best–Worst Method (BWM) was used to prioritize the dimensions and their respective components. The results indicate that, in order of priority, the marketing intelligence dimensions for lighting product development are: market intelligence, business intelligence, competitive intelligence, customer intelligence, and technological intelligence. Consequently, by ranking market intelligence as the foremost dimension, this study emphasizes the importance of external strategic approaches in lighting product development and recommends that organizations in the country increase investments in market and competitive information gathering to strengthen sustainable innovations.
